Goblin Grappling Hook

The goblin grappling hook is a magical item. While the object appears to be a rusty grappling hook clearly of goblin design, it actually contains an interesting surprise for users. Upon being thrown into the air, a goblin emerges from the end of the hook. The goblin will assist in attaching the hook. The creature is bound the will of the user, so long as it involves fixing the grappling hook to a wall or other scalable object.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

When the grappling hook is thrown, a goblin emerges in a plume of smoke and assists in hooking it to a surface. However, on a d20 roll of 1, the goblin gains sentience and creates chaos. He may cut the rope when you're climbing it, he may alert nearby enemies, or he may betray the party and stab you in the back.
