Personal history
Farlien was born to a well-off family of elves in Sunhall, but all that changed when his family fell on hard times. The economic crash of 1217 left his family destitute, and soon after, Farlien found himself on the wrong end of the law. He fled Sunhall, gradually making his way eastward from city to city. Each time he settled down in a new area, he quickly found himself mixing with less-than-reputable individuals. Over the years, his criminal acumen grew, and he quickly became known as a solid bookkeeper for various organizations. He even ran his own gambling circuit, taking bets on all kinds of events.
In 1393, he moved to Silverward, where he began working at the Purple Barrel Pub in order to provide the illusion of legitimacy. Farlien had graduated to organized crime. He used the pub mainly as a front for other... less than legitimate... businesses. He soon found himself on the payroll of the criminal Dormorn, where he put to use his skills at laundering money and keeping books.
