The Laws of Minecraftia
It goes without saying: Minecraftia is filled with blocks. As Minecraft is a game all about blocks, everything in Minecraftia is pixelated and blocky as well.
While Minecraftia has gravity like Earth, there are only a small handful of blocks that are affected by it. This means that structures like floating castles and platforms with no supporting pillars can easily exist.
Another difference is that blood does not exist. Animals, humans, and monsters when hit do not bleed. Instead they briefly flash red as they take damage. Not to be confused with wounds, which can happen.
There are godly beings that govern the world of Minecraftia. Many of these beings started out as mindless algorithms that became sentient over time.
Time in Minecraftia is significantly faster than time on Earth. As each day on Earth is 96 days in Minecraftia, this means that humans in Minecraftia hunger and tire faster, take less time to forget details, and have much shorter lives. This is also why the day/night cycle in stories that take place in Minecraftia is so short.
Cosmology
Minecraft started out as a project by Markus Persson to make a block game and see what people thought. Minecraftia was the first server he created and was used as a testing ground for different mechanics. He decided to turn it into an experiment to see how virtual life could evolve. Five years after the world was created, he added two new addons to focus on different aspects of the server. These two would eventually become Constros and Marceres, the gods of life and death respectively. Contros was an addon that enabled life to spawn, while Marceres was an addon that ensured that upon death the AI and programming of beings would return into base coding for the server to run. From Contros came the original Steve, a template for the first wave of humans to share before humans were given their own algorithm to determine distinguishing physical appearances.
