Colossus

A colossus is a theoretical type of space ship/space station hybrid that would be capable of destroying entire planets. Although such a ship has never been demonstrated in operation, the idea of being able to destroy a planet with the push of a button has long grasped the imaginations of futurists and military planners across the galaxy. However, the energy requirements for such a weapon would be astronomical - on the order of a star's entire energy output.

Despite the technology for such a weapon of terror being outside the real of possibility for contemporary empires, the fallen empires may have already mastered it. The United Nations Office of Naval Intelligence believes that the vessel owned by the Saathid Remnant, designated a Reaper-class vessel, may be a colossus. This is due to the size, dwarfing the rest of the Saathid fleet at approximately 100 kilometres long, and lacking any visible weapon system. However, the ship has never been spotted outside of the home system of the Saathid, leaving any further details to speculation.
