Session 1
General Summary
29th day of Reshoa, 326 RE
A previously unaffiliated number of individuals found themselves converging on a lone Hippogriff out among the cliffs and peaks just outside the city of Basafield. Luis Ignarath, a local, had taken out a bounty to slay a winged beast, yet 2 life-long companions, Malarian and Tahani were in the process of tracking a creature of similar description. Meanwhile, A'Lala- another local to Basafield- was on her way to this same nest to practice her music, having known this Hippogriff for some time now. The gnomes happened upon the creature first, yet were given away by Luis who stepped into the nest while they were observing. This lead to a chase, during which A'Lala chased behind. The 4 of them happened to cross paths with two other figures on their way into Basafield for different reasons. One, a dragonborn named Min Mos having heard that the town was a majority dwarven, sought employment in the town while the second, Rynn, was spurred on by visions from her divine patron. They too were caught up into the chase. Eventually, the now 6 individuals were eventually cut off at a clearing where a lone warrior named Minzy stepped out to flank the beast. A'Lala, finally catching up to the assembly of people, attempted to passify the creature; Luis prepped his net for capture. The group had nearly surrouded the beast when a Griffon, the natural predator of Hippogriffs, crushed the beast in a ferocious dive, attacking the group. They felled the beast, took the heads of both, and returned to the barracks to seek compensation for the bounty. They recieved 20GP each for the two creatures they brought down.
A'Lala led them on to the Merry Meats & Mead Tavern in the center of town, introduced them to Gelda, and shared a drink. While there, they were harried by 3 individuals seeking the assistance of travelers for a mishap in the mines. Henrik Bramsley, Yelena Havens, and Kenny Tracer introduced themselves and asked for aid in reterieving their comerade, Argen from the Crystaldeep mines after he was separated from them in a collapse. After some prodding from the group, they agreed to help, convincing Henrik to offer them supplies and a rough map of the mine in addition. The party set out to find an altername entrance to the mine outside the city walls and after locating one, made their way into Crystaldeep in search of Argen.
Eventually, they found the area of the collapse, noting the strange rotted wood that seemed to be the cause and began to dig through. They located his body on the other side of the rubble and retrieved a mysterious pendant to hopefully prove his demise to Henrik and Yelaena. The pendant had cast a spell that had seemed to keep his body protected upon his death, which took some time to figure out. Just as the necklace was broken, and the spell dropped, as a few of the group were inspecting the fungus along the walls, a number of seemingly rot-borne creatures emerged from the cracks and crevices around them, ready for a fight.
