Galdanam
Creation Myth
At the beginning of time, the whole of the cosmos, matter, energy, and magic, exited as one consciousness which came to be known as Galda. Galda expanded over the cosmos stretching to fill it's entirety. Many millennia passed as Galda remained. After a thousand endless nights, Galda sought understanding. It was a wide and as vast as the heavens but was not full. Then Galda determined to understand and experience, and so fractured into smaller pieces that went out to all the edges of the universe. They covered all that was known and all that would ever become known. These pieces of Galda came to be called “Kriu." These Kriu came in every shape and size and scattered to the edge of infinity. The largest of these became stars, moons, and planets. Some became humans, animals, and beasts, and the smallest Kriu became plants and insects. Every living thing has Kriu within them. Kriu is what gives humans consciousness, makes the stars shine, causes trees to sprout leaves, and makes beasts hunt. It is the way by which magic is controlled and what connects all things to each other. This is Galda: The combined existence of all the Kriu.
These Kiru became everything that exists. Through this act, Galda could not only form and fill the expanses of the cosmos, now Galda would experience and understand that vastness. Kiru could now interact with the cosmos, touching, feeling, seeing- all things Galda could not previously do. Thus, Galda maintained a singular goal: To experience and understand every thing possible. Sadness, joy, heartbreak, devotion, honor, rebellion, valor, sickness, power, wealth- Every experience was to make Galda a fuller consciousness. Therefore, each Kiru, no matter how big or small would someday be reabsorbed into Galda and would thus add to it's infinite wonder.
Beliefs
Afterlife
Death is the sacred Galdanam of your Kriu returning to the Kriu of our planet. When one dies, their Kriu is released from their body and into the earth, where upon it bonds with the greater Kriu.
Morality & Practices
“Galdanam” is the effort to bring one’s Kriu into balance within oneself and to be in balance with all other Kriu. Any act which brings balance to Kriu is an act of worship.
The Primary commandments of Galdanam are as follows:
- “Limsaad” is the effort to love and treat all living things with kindness.
- “Jetuhas” is the effort maintain control over your Kriu.
- “Maskesh” is the act of meditating on the Kriu within yourself.
- “Rojusai” is the effort to acknowledge one’s own wrongdoings and recommit to Galdanam.
Our world, like all others was formed by a massive shard of Kriu, which broke off from the whole of Galda many eons ago. And therefore the Kiru of this planet is just as sacred as the Kiru of any human, plant, or insect. The cycle of exercise, nutrition, and rest is extremely important to those who follow Galdanam. Maintaining balance of these will keep your Kiru in balance, and this is an act of worship.
Sishian Hasua was the first to whom it was revealed the truth of Galdanam. He was frozen alive, burned by the sun, cut by the rocks and struck by lightning, yet he did not falter. When he came down the mountain he looked healthy and smelled of lavender and sage. He then told his town about the wonderous things he had been shown, and they believed. The day of Sishian Hasua’s death occurred on the 15th day of Rainspike (The 28th day of Reshoa) and has been deemed a holy day called “Hasudai." Observance of this holy day is highly favorable to your Kiru.
In Galdanam, Daily meditation and exemplification of the 4 principals of Galdanam entail what it is to be good and to honor one's Kiru. Believers in Galdanam may also practice more serious expressions of the 4 principals such as Pacifism, Veganism, or Minimalism. Also, believers are highly encouraged to take a pilgrimage to the Mount of Favor during one's lifetime. For this was the mount upon which Sishan became aware of his own Kiru and by extension, Galda.
