Toteco
Toteco was the (local governor) Tozon of the (Province) Tuac of Khnum since age 20. During that time he's proven to be competent administrator, having been raised for the role. While Nojemo was young being trained as a Cleric of [God], Toteco served as a mentor and father figure dispite being only a few years older. 2 years ago, Maximic forces marched into Khnum and forcibly imprisoned and removed all political resistance to the [Governor] of [Province] that they installed.
Ever since his appointment 21 years ago, Toteco has seen Maximic military presence and tribute increase, and the military invasion of a [neighboring province]. It's obvious that increasing Maximic intervention in Cempuchi affairs was inevitable, and as Tozon, Toteco dedicated himself to do everything he could to delay a full out invasion.
Toteco was and is well connected among the Teuctli or the Cempuchi nobility, and even among influential figures abroad. Among others connections, Toteco reached out to Merinitan authorities requesting troops and supplies shortly before his imprisonment. He never received an answer.
His last act as Tozon was to give his Divine Kho Macocuatl , and the other Teuctli, more time to prepare a defense of the other provinces, by implementing a scorched earth policy, and destroying much of the stored weapons, supplies, infrastructure and ships in the port. This came at a dear cost, as many close to him were killed and those that were not were taken to Maxima in chains.
Toteco, Coyol , Huaco and several other Teuctli were tortured for political information, but managed to feign ignorance of major troop movements and weaknesses of [capital city]. He was then sent to Cucullatum Silver Mine as they had no other use for him.
Shortly before the campaign started, he was deep in the mine on a mining crew with the other Silver Mine Prisoners, when an [Obsuctus] killed one of the Cucullata Auxiliary Guards in his sleep. The prisoners managed to overpower the other guard, and break out of their shackles, but they were afraid of what would happen when it was noticed that the guards were dead and they were missing. With the help of Huaco , the party discovered the Silver Mine Prisoners and were able to help them to escape deeper into the mine.
