Aether

Very little can be achieved in war that can't achieved with some more time and funding! Imagine how much more can we learn if only we can push the boundaries a little further...
— Zixow, Jungle dragon Golemancer
A ether is energy flowing around those that have faced adversity and prevailed. It is a fundamental power of shaping their own destiny and influencing others. It is not known which organ - if any - stores Aether within Midrastains or its exact utilization and role but several correlations have been found. Those of high Aether tend to become Purveyors capable of Artificing, Golemancers capable of breathing life into inanimate constructs, Clawstoppers that have no equals on the battlefield, Shamans understanding the will of the Dreamscape and Gods or otherwise blessed individuals that stand out amongst the rest.

Properties

Material Characteristics

Aether is a weightless material that cannot be perceived by naked eye. Its flow and ebbing are hidden behind the veil of the physical world, concentrations of Aether are best perceived from within Dreamscape. Aether is present only within living organisms

Physical & Chemical Properties

Aether cannot be stored in the physical world, as the only vessel that possesses Aether are living beings. Not all creatures of Midrast Wain do possess equal quantities of Aether and nor do two creatures of the same species. While Dragons and Gryphons
overall are more likely to have higher quantities of Aether, it is very difficult to ascertain what governs the exact distributions. Overall, Intelligence and Power seem to be the two main factors.

Some suggest that those that work hard to get into positions of great importance are fueled with more Aether, thus they earn respect from those of lower Aether. Others believe that one is born with the predisposition of having great Aether and they naturally acquire it as they grow. Regardless, there are only a few individuals who can ascertain how much Aether an individual exactly has.

Compounds

Aether is used as a building block for Golemancers and Purveyors for their supernatural crafts.
