Howi Laine

Howi is a werewolf. His name means "turtle dove" because his family is all about gentling and controlling the beast within.
Howi Laine—not a nickname, just his name, as written—is a big guy. Linebacker build, confident smile, and a scar over his left eyebrow. A little intimidating, if he didn’t give off teddy bear vibes. Possibly trying a little too hard to stay chill.
He is very much the jock type, but he gets genuinely invested in his classmates’ wellbeing and will occasionally answer questions for them, before they could answer themselves.
His cover story for dealing with the human teacher is that he had some kind of long term illness that resulted in periodic absences that had added up by the end of last year. 
Has very high grades in English. Dating Katerina Valdu but they're trying to be subtle about it because she's a vampire and he's a werewolf and none of their elders would be happy about the relationship.
He's the steadiest of the students, with the least amount of background crap going on. As such, he usually ends up helping out Katerina or one of the others with their problems.
