Blayney-Merritt Academy

A school for mages in Midnight Town. Rival to Midnight High.   None of them really understand how normal sports work, but they definitely give the old sports rivalry a go. While outside competitions involve them finding ways to play havoc with the rules, the events between the two schools get heated.   The name makes them sound preppy and staid, probably snobbish, but in reality they're probably more accessible than Midnight High, which is technically a public school. Granted, you have to be a resident of Midnight Town, but that's quite a difficult accomplishment that not many outsiders want to achieve.   There are a number of students who aren't mages, but they all tend to be capable of magic to at least some degree.   The magic classes are the primary difference between the two schools. While Midnight High tends to maintain a normal-looking curriculum, with its magic classes as an external thing or as private classes, or otherwise adapted into normal-sounding classes, Blayney-Merrit incorporates them into the basic list of classes.    The primary point of rivalry between the schools tends to come out where the Council is concerned. Sending their kids to one or another can be seen as a sign of favor, and it can affect how politics go in the town, depending on who is doing the teaching.
