Icarus

"It is natural for man to form bonds,
and it should be just as natural to unbind.

Walk the path of the Traveller,
and thou shalt see the world,
it's truest and purest form.
Indulge in new community,
offer help to the needing,
and thou shalt find fulfilment in another's joy.

One who walks the road and greets,
knows the true value of life,
for no ordinary man longs for war and death,
but simply to live in peace."

Icarus
(also known as "the Traveller") is one of the prime deities in the Eldar pantheon. He is recognized as the god of travel, adventure, spontaneity and freedom.   Icarus is the only one of the prime deities to not have a temple in Midgard, due to his followers belief that a fixated temple would oppose his teachings.

Divine Domains

Trickery, Peace, Knowledge.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

Icarus' primary symbol is that of a "trojan" shield, checkered brown and blue, with a white cloak pin in the centre. Then colours represent the ocean and earth. The cloak pin represents a cloak, a popular symbol of travel.

Tenets of Faith

Icarus offers guidance to all who seek, wander and explore. He advocates approaching new circumstances with an open mind and a helping hand. His followers are also very keen to gather as much information as they can on anything they encounter on their travels and that is delivered to him. The Aether gods are very observant but not entirely omniscient, so Icarus' followers help them keep track of the things missed. There is no recognized promise of an afterlife for Icarus' followers, but people speculate that their souls explore across the cosmos after their death.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

Icarus has no active goal, but he does hold a very important position among the Aether gods, due to his followers being his eyes and ears in Midgard. Any information is valuable if one is to understand the ongoings of the mortal realms, and also to keep track of any Nether activity. As a long term goal, he sides with the gods who would like to see the concept of the afterlife abolished, but he recognizes that greater things are currently at stake.
