Hera

"Heed the word of the Golden Phoenix,
and she will guide you to victory.

Be willing to fight for your own.
Stay faithful to your cause.
Put trust in yourself,
your allies,
and yee shall overcome the greatest of threats.

War is not to be feared,
for it is the ultimate contest,
the one true method to measure one's strength,
wit,
resolve,
legitimacy,
and value.

Find glory, fulfilment and meaning in battle.
Respect your opponent and fight fairly,
for true combat is civil and elegant,
rather than crude and barbaric.
And all who give their life in her name,
will dine in the halls of Ysgard for eternity.

Have the wisdom to recognize your adversaries motive.
Meditate on whether their cause is legitimate or ignorant.

Does the result encourage you to seek an alternative,
or does it clarify the need to take up arms?"

Hera
(also known as "the Golden Phoenix") is one of the prime deities in the Eldar pantheon. She is recognized as the goddess of chivalry, honour and loyalty.

Divine Domains

War, Tempest, Order.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

Hera's primary symbol is that of a circular shield, half-red, half-green, with a golden phoenix in the middle. Red represents conflict. Green represents growth. The phoenix represents hope and rebirth.

Tenets of Faith

Hera advocates war as the ultimate contest to compare the power of two or more parties and it should be civil and respectful, rather than crude and barbaric. She values strategy and loathes recklessness and motivates her followers to study their adversaries and their motives and as a result wonder whether war is the only answer. Sometimes it isn't, but often by meditating on the issue you may come to the realization that armed conflict is necessary.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

Hera wishes her followers to live meaningful lives through good training, thrilling battles and grandiose celebration. Her followers are promised an afterlife in the halls of Ysgard, where they can eat and drink as much as they desire, share glorious stories and of course, battle each other forever. Hera calls her army "Ysgardians" and as long as men die in her name, the army grows bigger. The purpose of the Ysgardians is to fight for the Aether gods, should they ever go to war against the Nether gods.
