Variant Goliath

As an option, you can create a Goliath character who has an ancestory linked to the various types of giants. The ancestory is represnted by its subrace.

Goliath Traits

Your goliath character has certain characteristics in common with all other goliaths.
Ability Score Increase. Your Strength score increases by 2 and your Constitution score increases by 1.
Age. Goliaths have lifespans comparable to humans. They enter adulthood in their late teens and usually live less than a century.
Alignment. Goliath society, with its clear roles and tasks, has a strong lawful bent. The goliath sense of fairness, balanced with an emphasis on self- sufficiency and personal accountability, pushes them toward neutrality.
Size. Goliaths are between 7 and 8 feet tall and weigh between 280 and 340 pounds. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Natural Athlete. You have proficiency in the Athletics skill
Powerful Build. You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.
Jotunn Bloodline. Choose what Jotunn Bloodline you hail from and gain its traits.

Stone Giant Bloodline

Stones Endurance. You can focus yourself to occasionally shrug off injury. When you take damage, you can use your reaction to roll a d12. Add your Constitution modifier to the number rolled and reduce the damage by that total. After you use this trait, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
Stone Born. You have advantage on saving throws against being petrified.

Fire Giant Bloodline

Master of the Forge. You gain proficiency in two martial weapons and an exotic weapon of your choice (3 martial weapons if not using this Midgard setting). It takes you half the normal time and money to craft them.
Fire Born. You have resistance to fire damage. You're also acclimated to extreme heat, including that of being within a volcano.

Frost Giant Bloodline

Glacial Endurance. When you make a Constitution saving throw, you can use your reaction to gain advantage on the roll. You can use this trait immediately before or after you roll, but before any of the rolls effects occur.
Frost Born. You have resistance to cold damage. You're also acclimated to extreme cold, including that of being 20,000 ft. above sea level.

Cloud Giant Bloodline

Gentle Decent. As a reaction when falling, you may slow your decent for the next 30 ft. taking no damage if you touch the ground. Additionally you are resistant to bludgeoning damage taken from falling and you cannot be knocked prone by falling.
Cloud Born. You know the Gust Cantrip. At 3rd level you can cast the Feather Fall Spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so after a long rest. At 5th level you can cast the Fog Cloud Spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so after a long rest. Your spell casting ability for this is Wisdom.

Storm Giant Bloodline

Storm Strike. You can use your action to conjure a bolt of pure lightning in your hand and hurl it at a point you can see within 120 ft. Each creature within 5 ft. of the point must make a Dexterity saving throw. The DC for this saving throw equals 8 + Proficiency + Intelligence modifier. A creature takes 2d6 lightning damage on a failed save or half as much on a successful one. The damage increases by 1d6 at 6th, 11th, and 16th level. Once you use this trait you cannot use it again until you complete a short or long rest.
Storm Born. You can breath air and water and gain a swim speed equal to your movement. Additionally when you are hit with lightning or thunder damage you may use your reaction to use the Absorb Elements Spell and regain the ability to do so after a long rest. Your spell casting ability for it is Intelligence.

Hill Giant Bloodline

Hardy. Your maximum hit points is increased by 1. It increases by 1 again for every level beyond 1st.
Hill Born. When you roll hit dice during a short rest, you gain temporary hit points equal to the total amount you rolled above your maximum hit points, this only works if you spent the rest eating. Additionally long rests now restore all hit dice instead of just half.
