Order of the Undying Sun

The Order of the Undying Sun is strongest in Novigrad, with a lesser presence in the Free City of Zobeck. Hundreds of knights serve in dozens of small and major companies throughout Midgard. The Order is widely admired, its scarred and devoted warriors each fight harder than half-a-dozen mercenaries, and their unwavering devotion to high ideals makes them the elite backbone of the Nilfgaard army. Though known for its outstanding heavy cavalry, the order also raises most other troops, though rarely archers. These include companies of warrior-priests of Khors in war wagons, swift White Riders who primarily act as scouts and skirmishers, and even companies of devout pike fighters who serve a season for pay and honor (the “Sunset Regiments,” so-called because their service sees an end) and though they are not knights, the Sunset Regiments vastly increase the order’s martial power. With weapons and basic armor provided by the order’s armorers, these soldiers are uniformly of a higher quality than most levied troops. The order’s headquarters is located within a stronghold near the center of Novigrad. The order obeys the Provost Marshall Ulrichus Valotto.

Relationships

The order typically has good relations with many nations, despite backing the Nilfgaard army on multiple occasions. The dragon empire finds them useful for their quest to destroy all that is undead and unholy, however also sees them as an annoyance for their allegiance to Nilfgaard. The dark kingdoms absolutely despise the order and will actively seek to attack them if given the chance. They are widely celebrated within Novigrad and the Free City of Zobeck.

Goals

The order's main goal is to fight back the undead and unholy in the name of their god Khors and to spread the worship of Khors throughout the land. Their secondary goal is to back Nilfgaard in their endeavors, since the organization has strong ties to the nation due to being formed there. However since the death of the king and the seven most powerful cities vying for power, the organization has decided to take a more neutral approach and attempt to act as keepers of the peace in this time of crises and war.
