Middle Earth The Shadow is never truly gone...

The Third Age

Created by

The Wild-lands of the north have long been a place of darkness and foreboding. These lands have suffered ever under the jealous eyes of evil. From the ancient wars with the Dragons, to the rise of Angmar and most recently with the coming of the Necromancer, life here has been harsh and dangerous. All that changed however with the coming of a tiny Hobbit from the Shire, which saw the slaying of the great Dragon Smaug, the banishing of the Necromancer from Dol Guldur and the Battle of Five Armies won. Like the Phoenix rising from the ashes, the free peoples of the north are prospering once again. King Bard sits upon his throne in the city of Dale, spreading prosperity and hope to the outlying settlements. Laketown is rebuilt and now sits as the centre of all trade. Gold flows freely once more from the mines of Erebor under the rule of King Dain Ironfoot. And from the eaves of Mirkwood come traders and craftsman of uncounted skill. Without the malign influence of the Necromancer even the chieftains of the Anduin vales have ceased their petty feuds in favour of cooperation, even if somewhat reluctantly.   It has been many years since the great Dragon Smaug fell and now fine foods, wine and riches the likes of which that rival those found in grandest Gondor are traded throughout the northlands and travellers from all across Middle-Earth now flock to be a part of this growing new kingdom. Alongside these folk seeking an easy life there are those who are brave of heart and keen for adventure, there are many who need the aid of adventurers in this exciting new age and there is much coin to be gained by those with the stomach for the world. Dain Ironfoot seeks to reclaim the long lost trinkets of his peoples, the governors of Dale know little of the lands beyond their boundaries, their maps and records need to be rebuilt, the Beornings fight a constant struggle with rogue orcs that infest the Anduin Vales, old relationships between distant chieftains need to be reestablished and the rebuilding of the Old Forest Road is set to begin any day now and extra hands are always welcome. There is plenty of work still to do in the northlands ...   Adventure is calling you... Will you answer?
