Taking Turns

A turn consists of movement, an action, a bonus action and a free action.
Movement
per turn is equal to speed. It can be broken up. Standing up from being prone costs half your speed.
Actions are the main activity to execute on your turn:
  • Attack
  • Cast a Spell
  • Dash: double your movement
  • Disengage: your movement does not provoke opportunity attacks
  • Dodge: attacks against you get disadvantage, dex saves to evade get advantage.
  • Help: give another creature advantage on next ability check (provided you can help)
  • Hide
  • Ready: set if/when conditions to trigger your action at a specific condition.
  • Search
  • Use an object

Bonus Actions are allowed by class feats, spells, abilities, etc. Only one per turn is allowed.
Free Actions
include a variety of short actions such as making a gesture, uttering a command, pushing open a door, drawing your weapon.
Reactions
can be triggered outside of your turn, once per combat round.
