Scarlet Legion

The Scarlet Legion was born in the year -593 PS when the first Code of Red Law was signed off, the previous military of the Helman Council was rebranded to the Scarlet Legion with each of the legionaries vowing loyalty to the new Shesire Sovereignty.
It has gone through multiple interactions and ranking structures throughout the years since its founding, with it now being recognized as one of the longest-standing armies in the known world.
The Scarlet Legion, a venerable military order, places great emphasis on protecting their homeland. Founded in -593 PS with the signing of the first Code of Red Law, the Scarlet Legion transformed from the previous military of the Helman Council into a loyal force under the banner of the newly formed Shesire Sovereignty.
Throughout its long and storied history, the Scarlet Legion has undergone numerous changes in structure and ranking, solidifying its position as one of the most enduring armies in the known world. Their early dedication to recruitment ensured a continuous flow of new legionaries, committed to upholding the Sovereignty's just dominion and ensuring safety and shelter for all under its protection. After an update to the Code of Red Laws, all newborns who are abandoned are now adopted by the sovereignty to serve the Scarlet Legion. This has led to a decrease in the need for conscription, which is welcomed by the common person who doesn't want to serve in the military. With those wanting to serve or in need of money are welcome to become recruits.
Their commitment to expanding their forces and spreading the values of the Sovereignty is evident in their ongoing efforts to attract and recruit capable men and women, making the Scarlet Legion an ever-growing and formidable force to be reckoned with.
Structure
The ranks were originally marked with a stripe of paint on their armour but as the War of the Flying Baron began a shift of amour was made, were the dragon scales were seen into a scale mail. Different colours of dragon scales are used per rank.
These armours were passed down through Legionaries as they passed on, with it only never being passed on if one were to retire and take it with them as a souvenir.

Recruit
Initiates undergoing training and learning the basics of legionary life. These are made up of volunteers from the sovereignty, as well as the orphans adopted into the Institute of Lysandus. Instead of having dragon scales, they used gambeson.Guard
Newly trained soldiers who have completed their basic training and are now wait for their final test of the Scarlet March. They take up work as city guards and only ever become legionaries when the need arises within the sovereignty. Instead of having dragon scales, they used gambeson.Legionary
The core and backbone of the Scarlet Legion, comprise the bulk of the enlisted soldiers. They are those that have completed the Scarlet March and are considered fully a part of the Scarlet Legion. Red scales are used, they vary in shades with orange also being acceptable.Monan
A group leader responsible for a group of legionaries, ensuring discipline and cohesion within the small unit. The name retired from the Helani word for "Leader" Black scales are used, they vary in hue with green also being an acceptable tone.Officer
Senior officer overseeing several Monan and assisting in coordinating various legionary activities. Named after a historical figure predating the Sovereignty. Blue scales are used, they vary from sky blue to deep navy.Legate
Second-in-command to the commanding officer of the entire Scarlet Legion. They are responsible for overseeing multiple legions. Named after Enser Flame's personal bodyguard. Purple scales are utilized, ranging in hues from deep shades to lighter tones of violet.Lysandus
The supreme commander of the Scarlet Legion, holding the highest authority and entrusted with the defence of the Shesire Sovereignty. The name comes from the infamous king Lysandus Petunia as a tribute to his contribution to the Scarlet Legion. The tones of scales vary greatly within this rank, with it often coming from the scales of an exceptionally rare dragon, with these pieces getting buried with the Lysandus that wore them.
