Founding Gods

The Gods of Meridian are split in two groups, the Founding and the Destroyer Gods.   Before the founding of Natdivida and the centralization of the Gods, there were many different now historical "iterations" of the seven main deities. When the the city and power structure around the Divine Anchor was founded, the gods were centralized to the Seven Founding Gods.     Cideva, The Knowing Eye (she/her): She is the God of Judgement and Order. Her followers often take oaths and paths in the realm of order, truth, and justice. Her appearance is that of a Sphinx. She is the ruler of the gods and her devotee on the Divine Council is the leader and referred to as the Voice of Divine Justice.   Asil, The Bells of Change (he/him): He is the god of War, bravery, and spirit. His followers often wear bells on the tails of the cloaks so that all may hear them approaching, symbolic of their acceptance of change and their bravery.   Zelir, the Dark Shepherd (they/them): They are the god of Death and Rebirth. Zelir often takes the form of a large dark wolf. Those who worship him can be zealots who praise death for the prospect of rebirth, or simply those who help guide others through the last steps of their life. Each of his temples has the imagery of wolves peering down on the parishioners to remind people that death looms over us all.   Vena, The Color of Worlds (she/they): Vena is the goddess of Nature, Freedom, and Healing. Many say that they see the image of a woman in the side of a mountain, or a woman's smile from the sky. This is Vena. She considers all of those who walk, swim, fly, or otherwise live upon Meridian as her children. Her followers often devote themselves to paths of healing, and nurturing both the land and its inhabitants. Her temples have reflecting pools and nature. A strange number of birds and other wildlife are always present in the services held by her clerics.   Bitin, The Faceless Weaver (He/They): Bitin is the god of Magic, Fate, and Luck. He is the all-knowing of the unknown. His followers specialize in taming or understanding that which is thought to be untamable and beyond comprehension. His temples are often dark and meditative as the greatest understanding of the world is often through meditation.   Mutix, The Silent Observer (She/Her): Mutix is the goddess of Knowledge. Though closely related to Bitin, their practices differ as the concreteness of the ideas. Oftentimes her followers will choose to work closely with the devotees of Bitin to discover new things, but the study of the known and the understanding of the world belongs to her. She is the Patron of the Hemisferric School of Magic.   Firmes, The Light of the Path (He/Him): As the youngest spirit of the Founding Gods, Firmes is the god of adventure, and redemption. Journeys do not need to be a hero's quest. For some, Firmes serves as a reminder to take everyday as a journey; learning to grow and breathe with each step. Others take him as the god of redemption, finding themselves through his path through the unknonw. Often depicted in flames, or as a flaming stag in the forest, Firmes is quite popular with the adventures and wanderers of the world.
