Solar Surfer

A Solar Surfer, or Solar Board, consists of a long, horizontal, aerodynamic plank of rigid material connecting to a propulsion system and a large sail, which functions as a power source. the rider uses a handle attached to the sail to control the vehicle, a separate throttle is usually connected via wire and held in the non-dominant hand. There are also commonly small compartments within the board for storing small items.
The Meridian Solar Surfer, in fact, originates from Lumos where the inhabitants used the solar absorbing Sunsail plant to propel themselves through the sky. Modern boards, however, are usually made with metallic material and a crystal sail, many also include battery crystals for operation outside of ideal circumstances.

Power Generation

Solar Surfers absorb sunlight through the large sail connected to the center of the plank and channels it through the propulsion system.

Solar Surfers use the the same Kinetic Gyro technology as all propulsion systems do on Meridia.

Armor and defense

Higher end solar surfers often have a shielding crystal embedded in the board in case of a crash.
