The Geat
Dekafali Emerades , The Great
Early Life
Emerades was born in Epetros, then the capital in the of the Epetrurian Kingdom on the Dekaelic peninsula, sometime during the year 26 BCE. He was the only son of Kydates, the king of Epetruria, and his wife Tynas, daughter of Lechi IV, king of Partha.
According to contemporary sources, Emerades was born at noon while Kyddates was besieging Helara. The moon eclipsed the sun and the stars shone in the sky. Astrological records show that an eclipse would have occured over Dekaelus around the time of Emros' birth. Adherents to the Dekaelic Imperial Cult see this event as when the gods ceded their power to Emerades and his successors.
Early Life and Education
Beginning at the age of 13, Emerades was tutored by several prominent philosophers. He excelled in horseback riding and his martial studies.
King of Epetruria
Upon Kydates' death, Emerades was declared king of Epetruria at the age of 19. The following spring, he continued campaigning into Rhaetia, achieving significant territorial expansion in just one season.
Upon returning to Epetros from campaign in the fall, Emerades saw that forces of the Athraic League had occupied the city. Now forced to beseige his home, Emerades had to contend with dropping temperatures as winter approached.
After 32 days, Emerades breached the city with the help of a group of loyal Epertrurians within the city. He slaughtered the Athraic commanders within his family's palace. His mother and two older sisters had been killed during the occupation.
The Dekaelic Campaign
Early in the following spring, Emerades marched to Athra.
Death
Emerades was mortally wounded in battle while on campaign against the Rhaetians in Hebetica Minor (now known as Lydea). Upon news of his iminent death, Emerades' children raced to Dimitsana, for Emerades had not yet declared an heir.
