Captain of the Reserves, Senator of Lorath Vogario Chastain (a.k.a. Soldier's Delight, The Land Whale)
Personality
Vogario is one of the last in a dying breed of the Lorathi Military. A captain not selected for his military capabilities but for his office as a Senator. While his talents would make him more at home with merchants and accountants. The General has shown his value in Army logistics. Especially during the difficult Darkwash Valley Campaign.
Soldiers mercilessly mock the captain for his weight and lack of personal combat skills. The sharp tongue captain often countering the ranks' insults. This undisciplined behavior would likely be punished by most other military commanders. However this uniquely aids in Vogario’s command structure. His jovial nature along with his ability to keep the men well supplied encourages army veterans to continue service in the reserve. Allowing the army to hold onto its best soldiers for much longer.
History
The Chastain's are what is often referred to as Party Senators, or those that can't reliably pay their office fees. So to receive the perks of being a Senator, they align themselves with a party that assists in covering their fees. Vogario has been no different than his predecessors, closely aligning the family with the New Unity Party.
It was through his alignment that he was made a captain of the Lorathi Army. Just like many of the early captain's he possessed no military knowledge or ability to fight. However unlike his peers that were quickly phased out Vogario has earned his keep as a army commander. Proving to be excellent at managing Army Logistics as well as the military's loudest voice in the senate. Vogario serves a key role as a bridge between the Senate and Army command.
