Ser Thomas Jerome Jareth, known to most simply as "The Thin White Duke", is a knight of the North and one of the more enigmatic servants of House Jareth. Though armored and titled, he is rarely seen at court, instead ranging the wilds of the Stoney Shore and beyond. A tracker of uncanny skill, he has spent decades hunting bandits, rogue beasts, and worse things that slip between shadow and snow. He speaks little, smokes often, and prays quietly to R'hllor, whom he claims guides his hand in the dark. Among the smallfolk and some whispering soldiers, tales abound: that the Duke has died and returned more than once, pulled back from the abyss by fire-kissed breath and red-lit hands. Others scoff, pointing to his sharp tongue, steady sword hand, and gaunt, unaging frame as the product of discipline, not divinity. But those who’ve stood beside him when the cold closes in tend to believe. Or at least, they burn a candle in his name.
