Rævor Snow

Rævor Snow- Ryswell (a.k.a. The Bloody Bastard of the Rills)

Personality

Rævor is a troubled youth, a striking mixture of outwardly brooding and inwardly optimistic. He struggles between his hate for those that killed his family, and his gratitude to those who took him in and raised him as one of their own. Mostly because he sees both those as being his guardian Maria Mormont, the killer of his mother and yet the one who has provided for and protected him ever since. He is an emotional boy, often taken in by his anger or sadness as the situation calls for it, but he's learned the values of honor, loyalty, and hard work through the instruction and care of his new home.   Born as the bastard child of Ræva Ryswell and an unknown sellsword in her father's company, Rævor spent his early childhood in Essos along with the rest of the Ryswell household and his grandfather's mercenaries. Having been born in exile, the boy originally knew nothing of the North, or Westeros for that matter. His experiences there would leave a lasting impression on the boy for the rest of his life, and yet that would not be the end of his trauma. When his family was finally welcomed home to the North, it ultimately ended in tragedy. His grandfather was killed in a tournament melee gone wrong, and shortly after his mother rose up in rebellion.   He never speaks of it, but he was there when Ræva slaughtered the Starks who were visiting. He knew it was going to happen, too, since his mother thought little of speaking about the plan with him in the room. He knew it would happen, he could have warned them, and yet he let it happen anyway. A secret he keeps to this day, out of fear that knowing might change how those around him view the boy. In his mind, despite what others say, he was not an innocent bystander, but complicit in the crime by virtue of remaining silent.   Regardless, the Northerners welcomed him in a way he never expected. Lyanna Stark placed the boy into the care of Maria Mormont, and granted her the authority to legitimize him as a Ryswell, given there are no other heirs to the family name. Though Maria was instructed to only do so when and if the boy proved to be free of his mother's madness. For the time being he would still be known as Rævor Snow while he continued to grow, learning what it truly meant to be a Northerner. But one day he will be known as Rævor Ryswell, if only he can overcome his own demons...   To that end, Rævor, now a young man, trains under the Sword of Winter, Jorah Mormont as well as his own sworn sword, Ser Larkin. From both he learns what it means to be a warrior and a knight, while also learning the proper way to wield a blade. Already, even at his young age, he has been recognized as having grown his skill very quickly, and in 429 AC he set out to join the Golden Tournament at King's Landing hoping to prove himself ready, both physically and mentally. Should he return victorious, he hopes to be that much closer to claiming his inheritance.
