Master Abailard is a fallen Maester, a disgrace, a reject, a renegade. And thus very appreciated by the Rogares: he's an invaluable link to Westerosi culture, something they already had dealings with, but not in the thorough manner that Abailard can provide. His coming to Moredo's court is shrouded in mystery, a ragged young man (back then) accompanied by a child - Dinand of the Bakkalon - who was immediately trusted with the education of the heir to the Rogare power, Lotho. In time, the link between Moredo and Abailard grew closer and closer and now, he represents the Magister in private business in most cases, as he were the man himself. The first class of two - Lotho and Dinand - became through the years a true academy: the Emerald Garden, where children of the Lysene aristocracy can learn both the liberal arts and how to beloyal to the the Rogares...
