Brook Dae Newstones

Brook Dae Newstones (a.k.a. Brook D. Newstoes, Broke-the-(New) Stones, Mystery Knight)

Personality

A young boy, filled with dreams far greater than the life he was born into, carried a burning desire to carve his own path in the world. He was not content with being just another nameless soul lost to history—he longed to rise above his circumstances, to be remembered, to become something greater than fate had seemingly intended for him.   He watched the warriors who surrounded him, men hardened by battle and driven by purpose, and he aspired to stand among them, not as a mere follower, but as an equal—or perhaps, one day, as their leader. His ideals were grand, perhaps naïve, but they fueled his every step. He wanted more than survival; he sought glory, purpose, and a name that would echo through time.   Though the road ahead was uncertain, and the world was far harsher than the dreams of a child, he remained undeterred. He would learn, he would fight, and he would shape his own destiny—no matter what it took.

History

Born somewhere in the Vale before Otho’s conquest, he entered the world under tragic circumstances—his mother died in childbirth. His father, known as Dean Dae, perished during the founding of New Vale. From him, he inherited not only his armor and sword but also the arakh that had once been driven into his neck—a grim reminder of his past.   Left alone as a child, survival was impossible on his own. The men who had fought alongside his father took him in, raising him as one of their own. Since no one knew Dean Dae’s true family name, the boy was given the surname traditionally assigned to bastards of the Vale—"Stones." However, as he was born in New Vale, he was instead named "Newstones."   Darkwater Valley was a land of blended cultures, where traditions intertwined, and warriors from different backgrounds coexisted. Determined to make the most of this, he sought out the finest fighters he could find—learning to ride like a Knight of the Vale, wield a sword like a mercenary, and absorb the skills of any warrior willing to teach him. As he honed his abilities, he realized it was time to put them to the test—and perhaps earn a fortune along the way.   With that goal in mind, he set out on foot from Darkbridge to the harbors of Lorath. There, he smuggled himself aboard trade ships bound for King’s Landing, determined to make his mark in the grand tournament.
