Medrenwell's Planetary System

Medrenwell is referred to as a world or plane by its inhabitants, and indeed it is so, though astronomers would more scientifically describe it as a planet. Medrenwell's planetary system bears no specific name. It is heliocentric, meaning that its fifteen planets all orbit around a radiant sun located in its very centre, named Faèinos. Medrenwell is the planet second closest to the sun, and a few of the other planets can be observed occasionally by its inhabitants, as distant astral objects in the night sky.

Medrenwell's Moons

The planet of Medrenwell has four moons of different sizes orbiting around it, with each of them also moving at a different speed than the rest. In terms of proximity to Medrenwell, from closest to farthest, they are named Ospigedron, Lomètor, Huivoklo, and Nessepelthemar. Their names originate from the ancient Voggsalkan language family, which first appeared in the continent of Sòvoth, and in time they have been adopted by most contemporary languages of Medrenwell, although each moon also bears many other names in tongues both alive and erstwhile.

Ospigedron: The moon closest to Medrenwell also happens to be the smallest of the four. Ospigedron's moon cycle lasts twenty seven days. Its surface is filled with ever-changing, swirling patterns, which are often observable in the night sky with a naked eye. These luminous nebulas are formed due to the sun's light interacting with the various gaseous clouds covering the moon's entire surface.

Lomètor: The second moon of Medrenwell, this pale silver sphere is also the largest among its siblings in terms of size, or more aptly of volume. Its moon cycle has a duration of thirty two days. In many cultures, a full cycle of Lomètor is used as a measuring unit of time, equivalent to a month.

Huivoklo: The third of Medrenwell's moons, it is characterised by its distinct colour, crimson with a purple hue. Its moon cycle is fifty two days long, making Huivoklo the moon with the slowest orbiting speed out of the four. Its shape is nearly spherical, although it has a very uneven surface, filled with craters whose diameters can be many stadia long, and mountains thousands of feet tall, which some astronomers claim that contribute to its unusually low speed.

Nessepelthemar: The farthest of Medrenwell's moons, it shines with a soft blue-ish light, although it is often overshadowed by the light of its more proximal siblings. Its moon cycle lasts fourty five days. Nessepelthemar is also the second largest of Medrenwell's moons in terms of dimensions, and its shape is slightly elliptical, as is its orbit.
