Session III : Adrift and Abaondend Report

General Summary

Waking up, our party found themselves safe for relative terms, on the shores of the Sea of Lashwin where Celdric had witnessed Diogo and Jug get put under a Fae spell of some kind. Unresponsive the party learned that the pair could be told to do basic tasks. Hopping down the coast, their small fishing boat unable to sail thru deep water, staying ahead of the Demmish and Westerhold city guard and navy as they escaped. Between Celdric, Mo and Jug the party built multiple false campsites along their coastal path in order to try and draw their pursuers away. On the forth day of travel, Mo spoke to some seagulls and learned of the Navy still following as well as another ship ahead of them. Midday of travel, thru the beginning rain, the party discovered said ship ahead of them; Elders End.   Flagship of the Venom Oath, the Elders End has seen its share of blood. The ship always seems to withstand everything that her opponents throw at it, cannons and spells bounce off her hull. The power of this vessel has no equal, expected from the second strongest guild among the Isles. It's said that the ship has a mind of its own and seeks out battle where it can, bowing only to he who calls himself captain. One of the oldest and most renowned ships to sail among the Isles, Elders End holds high respect for those who call her home. Rumors of Elders End is that it can sink ships by ripping them apart, torch the decks of enemy ships, and melt wood and metal with a look. Others say that it appears in a blaze of light, blinding any that are near. And still others speak of it with fear as it can absorb nearby plants and trees to fix itself.   Climbing aboard the party found that the ship was derelict at anchor, not a soul in sight nor a sound to be heard except the uneven ringing of the alarm bell. Moving about the deck they come across Orc bodies, throat-less and most seemed to have not put of a fight; surprised and killed quickly. Jug and Diogo, left on the fishing boat with orders to attack anything that was not the party, were soon called aboard as Jug had attacked the boat and caused a large hole to be made within it. Boat-less, out at sea, and still being chased the party begins work on figuring out what happened on the Elders End and getting her ready to sail. Erist and Jinfei went to exploring the Navagation and Captains quarters, Patrin Jr. and Ooptec lifted the anchor, Mo untied sails and Celdric feeling the ship begin moving took to the helm. On the move once more the party began to once more look thru the ship to try and discover what happened, Mo and Ooptec finding most of the crew, throats torn out, and began the process of removing them of their magical items before throwing the corpses overboard; Mo rolling a nature check to figure out that whatever had done this was done with teeth and not manufactured weaponry.   Cledric keeping the ship on a coarse away from beaching, alone top deck was attacked by what he described as a 'murder salmon', large glowing yellow eyes and a mouth full of teeth, it dug into his shoulder before running away. Hearing the shout of pain over the storm, Erist and Jinfei rushed upward to find an unconscious Celdric, acting quickly applied healing to him and he awoke to tell of the beast. Erist, who had not been a fan of the ship to begin with, was now completely convinced that the ship was in fact haunted.   Below deck, in the brig, Mo and Ooptec had found the storage of the ship as well as the only survivor who when questioned asked if things were safe and the...thing...was gone. The orc explained that there was a creature aboard the ship and by the time they had figured it out was to late, thus he locked himself in the brig to keep the beast from getting to him. Calling to the rest of the party, Mo explained what he had found to all but Erist, Celdric, Jug and Diogo who all stayed top deck. Jinfei left to go inform those on top about what creature was aboard and the survivor, only to be attacked. Just barely making it Erist before passing out, who healed her quickly, awoke and told the pair of what attacked and the survivor below.   Patrin Jr. while headed up found the creature, a being named Winner. Winner was a halfing that was a tad off, blessed by the Fae will do that to ones mind, and explained that she was here for the ship to take back to her Boss. The last crew didn't listen to her so she got rid of them, now with the parties help could get her ship back. Seeing no choice but to do as he was told, said that they would need to talk to the captain, so back to top deck they headed. Winner arriving first and talked with Mo briefly before turning her attention to Ooptec, asking questions to him directly and climbing him to talk face to face. Mo, not taking kindly to someone else on Ooptec, told the ent to dive to the bottom of the ocean...   Seeing their chance to escape, the party quickly turned the ship as Ooptec tried to fight off Winner. Mo having an empathetic connection to the ent felt as the worst happened; Anger, pain, fear, frightened.....nothing. As they sailed away the body of Ooptec floated to the top as Winner jumped over to try and chase the ship down.
