Alvaðr Audåv (a.k.a. the Old)

A wise ruler who made regular sacrifices to the gods, Audåv the Old ruled peacefully, preferring to avoid conflict. Unfortunately, she was so committed to peace that she was driven from her throne at Hersalir twice, rather than fight to expel her enemies. She is infamous for sacrificing her nine sons in an attempt to extend her own life. The people of the empire were so horrified by these sacrifices that when Audåv's daughter came to the throne, she outlawed the sacrifice of dragons and other sentient species.
