Hingardi
The Hingardi, tribal peoples who reside in the Jade Mountains to the north and northeast of Dalia, are renowned (and reviled) for their fierce blood and honor culture.
In ancient times they were responsible for untold destruction along the coast of the Sea of Mice; containment and pacification of the savage Hingardi warriors is a central component of Dalian culture and national identity.

Major language groups and dialects
The Hingardi speak a language that is highly fusional, succinct, and emphasizing of rough, articulated initial consonants. Hingarda, as it is called, shares few but not zero similarities with the Midlander language, which while also fusional is more tolerating of gloss and careful detail.
Both of these languages are entirely antithetical to the language of the people farther south in the Pearl Mountains, which is highly glossed, tonal, agglutinative, and which makes use of redundancy for emphasis.
Common Customs, traditions and rituals
The Hingardi are unique among their neighbors in that they practice a derivation of the ancient religion known as Geminarchy, whose core tenets involve veneration of the twin stars Hin and Iau.
The Hingardi variant of Geminarchy places special emphasis on the worship of Hin in contrast to Iau; it is this custom which gave rise to the Midlander exonym Hingardi. In their own language, they refer to themselves as Grinera — 'owners,' as opposed to the Midlanders whom they call Laydera — 'thieves.'
Common Myths and Legends
The Hingardi regard themselves as native to the Land of the Three Kingdoms; they believe the ethnic Midlanders to be foreign invaders who long ago migrated from a land west of the Sea of Mice and displaced them. It is for this reason that they wage perpetual war on the Midlanders of an exceptionally gruesome nature.
