Pearl Mountains
Delineating the southern extent of Linia, and by extension the greater Midlands, the Pearl Mountains shadow the majority of Linian territory; the east-southeasterly seabreeze from the Sea of Mice towards the banks of the Firenze ensures it remains modestly hydrated.
The Pearls are so named for the brilliant pearl-white marble locked underneath the surface. The Midlanders do not covet it as they do the granite from the Jade Mountains in the north, but Pearl marble remains a valuable export over the sea.
The mountains are inhabited by nomadic tribespeople who speak a language completely alien to Midlander ears. Years of cultural contact have revealed they share the Hingardi opinion that the Midlanders are outsiders in some fashion, but unlike the Hingardi, the southern tribes are friendly and welcoming to their neighbors.
