Military action

1401(AC)
1402(AC)

The people of Fetesca get dragged into a war for control of Talen'Seere.

The King of Fetesca began mobilizing the gentry to deal with monster attacks in Greyson and the Surrounding areas by some unknown gray green humanoids.    The Order of the Broken Lyre joined with the forces from the various duchies and over time came to realize that the attacks emanated from areas that contained Portals to Talen’Seere. At this point, it is revealed that Balrian Greycloak has been with the King of Fetesca and advising him that the Drow must have something to do with this, and advised moving against Talen’Seere.   This caused a schism among the nobility. The king was supportive of this idea, as was the Duke of Greyson. Duchess of Darel agreeed due to her feudal obligations. However, the Duke of Blackholm refused, accusing the Grey Elves of trying to use Fetesca to fight a civil war, and the Duchess of Krendal was persuaded by Zavara’s distrust of Balrian Greycloak and joins Blackholm in refusal.   The Duchess of Darel calls upon the Order of the Broken Lyre's oath, and they are pulled into the conflict. Over the next few weeks the party battled the creatures, whom the people of Greyson call Oruks, (Elvish for “the Twisted”), and Taz comes to realize that the Oruk spellcasters are actually warlocks with pacts to the fae of the Unseelie court.   Taz then leads the party into the Dreaming to confront the queen of the Dark Court. Here they find out that the Oruks are tools of Umrae’s vengeance. They are elves whom were taken and changed into horrible forms and then bred together to make an army in the halls below Talen’Seere.   The Dark Queen reveals that Umrae, the speaker of the Dark Elves in Talen'Seere, does not serve Belandra, but rather Fern, who has joined with the Unseelie court and the forces of Brilla to destroy Talen’Seere and return the Drow to her dark worship. As the party travels through the dreaming towards the dark tunnels beneath Talen’Seere, they see that Umrae’s Oruks have been formed into a great army that is ready to swarm from the fae portals into Greyson.   As the party moved to delay the Oruk forces, they send a message to the King of Fetesca about the coming army. King Ravennian commands his war mages to close the portals in Fetesca and cut Talen’Seere off. Unfortunately, the magical backlash of that ritual caused the portals to implode destroying most of the warmages of Fetesca and dragging the entirety of the duchy of Greyson into the dreaming. The Grey Sea pours into fill the vacant space that once held land. The forces of Fetesca were devastated, and were not able to continue the battle with Umrae, leaving only the party to lead the revolt against the mad Drow matriarch in the elvish city.   The party’s efforts were bolstered by the rebels under Balrian Greycloak, who helped the party battle down into the Drow tunnels and face off against the united might of the Fernite Drow and the Unseelie court that supported them. Eventually, the party defeated Umrae and took her captive.   As the war drew to a close, the party turned Umrae over to the speaker’s council for judgement, and to their surprise Balrian Greycloak turned himself over to be judged likewise. The word of the council was that both were to be executed for their crimes against Talen’Seere. Zavara was chosen to act as the hand of Sepia, and once the two were bound to the rock, summoned the lightning that executed them.
