Masks

Every living soul on Maverot has a mask. This mask cannot be removed by normal means and vanishes if its owner dies. Each mask is unique and represents the major desires or motivations of its wearer pared down to their simplest and purest manifestations. Perhaps the masks exist as a barrier between the person and the memory-draining nature of Maverot. Regardless, they are a symbol of individuality and are capable of accumulating power as their wearer accumulates knowledge and experience. Survive long enough on Maverot, and one's mask will begin to effect changes upon the wearer, those around them, and even on the environment.
