Materia 51: "Dance of the Phoenixes"

General Summary

Called to an infernal gathering with her master Titivilus, Mari accepts his proposition to stack her council with figures friendly to the Nine Hells, including Marius and Isabella Ekker. The next morning, Yvri secures the safety of Prijkan refugees squatting in a merchant's house. The party meets with Lysandra Voss, the bastard daughter of Kalanth Drahthaar, inquiring about her father.
The party opts to deal with Kazuo Takeda, meeting him in Blackthorn Fortress. Mari deftly defuses a tense situation involving Kazuo and Hanako due to the Takeda historical rivalry with the Fujiwaras. She negotiates for the release of Arin Sunweaver, a kind-hearted priest of Semeleth.
Meeting with Kalanth, he reveals that he was urged by Talia Balrel to take the party more seriously, and he makes vague promises to not be trouble as long as Mari stays out of the affairs of the drow. That night, Hanako discusses a secret with Talia, and meets with Kazuyuki and Akari, having a heart-to-heart before Hanako's dowry tournament.
