Mercenary Corps
Above all, a mercenary respects their contract.
The Mercenary Corps act as a sort of "better business bureau". The Bureau works as a mediating body between mercenary groups. All verified mercenaries follow the same code of conduct, which forbid war crimes and criminality.
The Bureau maintains accountability through the implementation of Burn Notices (kill orders).
The Corps formed as the demand for unaligned, highly trained commandos increased. As the war between the east and west went cold, fighting became less conventional, and Western institutions began hiring mercenary groups to carry out tactical strikes against their enemies.
Over time governmental contracts became more and more uncommon, as mercenaries began primarily taking private contracts. It's incredibly common to see mercenaries acting as bodyguards, or a personal military for the rich and influential.
This change marked a shift in the Western government, towards a Mega-corporation.

The official mission statement of the Mercenary Corps, released by The Bureau, claims they act to facilitate fair and consistent transactions between contractors and clients, and to maintain a standard operating procedure.

I just saw this comment! I apologize for the late reply! So far I've developed a general aesthetic for each company (ie. helmet design, armor type, color scheme, symbol, ethical alignment), I'll soon post pictures when I write articles for each company.
