Uisce (ISH-ka)
Uisce hails from the Clan of the Loch, a large clan of Lorelei who inhabit one of the many deep lakes in the Isles of the North Sea. Her father, Tearlach was the chieftain of the clan and had spent many long years developing a peace with the neighboring clan of humans, the Forbes Clan. Uisce had a happy life, spending the days playing in the waters with her siblings and her evenings performing in the taverns. A naturally gifted singer, Uisce attracted the attention of many of the local humans. As part of the peace deal brokered by her father, Uisce was betrothed to the son of the Forbes Clan chieftain, Eigan. They got along well and he often returned to the tavern to watch her sing. One night, Eigan couldn’t handle his liquor well and decided to follow Uisce home to the loch. His persistence scared Uisce and she fled deeper into the lake. Drunkenly, Eigan tried to follow her until it was too late. When his body was discovered, the clans were outraged and the peace was shattered. Uisce fled into exile, blaming herself for the death of Eigan. She doesn’t know what the state of her home is now.
She spends her time wandering from town to town, tavern to tavern, searching for the next place she can call home. Performing enough to keep her stomach full and roof over her head.
After a few lonely years on the road, at a tavern Uisce was performing as usual, someone caught her eye. A handsome foreigner was in the audience tonight, watching her raptly. After the show, they bonded over being strangers in an even stranger land. Since then Rodromi and Uisce have traveled together, enjoying life on the road.
