Rotz auf den Wunsch
Rotz is the seat of the Landgravate of Greifswald. It sits on the south bank of the Wunsch river, aobut 12 miles upstream from Wunschau, the seat of the Margravate of Rabenwald, its chief rival.
Rotz was traditionally a center of fishing and the riverine trade. In the last several centuries, it also became a town famous for its tailors, who are said to be second to none in all of Markwald. Peter the Tailor - a Handwerker who slayed two giants, captured a unicorn, and became Landgraf in his own right, is the town's most famous folk hero (though it is unclear how much of the story is actually true).
In recent times, Rotz gained significance in being the town that apparently recovered from the Totentanz earlier than its counterparts. Despite not being protected by the river, it has not come under attack since the early days of the phenomenon a year ago. After an initial outbreak, it has also not experienced the Plague. The town appears prosperous, is set for a large harvest, and seems to be defended by all manner of people at arms, drawn by the Landgraf and the Countess from near and far. The ruling couple have also instituted an annual tournament, perhaps as testament to their triumph over the Plague.
