Orcs

Orcs are carniverous amphibians. Their predator origins makes them tend to view the world in terms of risks and opportunities, striking decisively when opportunity arises. Their amphibious nature leads them to seek out moist environments. Orc homes are often humid hothouses harbouring water plants and boiling braziers.

Orc babies are tadpole like creatures who are kept in waterborn nurseries. Within a year they mature into their crocodilian child forms, at this stage they struggle to walk on two legs and still have long swimming tails. Nursery age Orcs eat veraciously, it's considered unsafe to let them play with toddlers of other species. Eventually they will learn to walk upright, but they still won't reach their humanoid adult forms until their late teenage years.
