Sigrblót

Held at the beginning of May, marking the official end of winter and the beginning of campaigning season, the Sigrbólt, or Springfest, is all about contests of Strength, Dexterity and Constitution. These take the form of wrestling, swimming, knattleikr, foot racing, stone throwing, ale drinking, and wife-carrying. The competitions are followed by a feast paid for by the local lord, with those who distinguish themselves given seats of honor and all they can eat.
