Þorrablót

Celebrated in late January. As the winter's grip is at its tightest, friends and neighbors come together to offer sacrifices to help ensure the prompt arrival of Spring, usually in the name of Thor and Freyja. After the sacrifices are offered, there is to be an evening where dinner is shared between friends, and participants hold speeches, recite poems, and exchange gifts.
