Riscor-Calashen
Central along the Aber's Coast around Loc Weylos, Riscor-Calashen is the largest of the major inland political centers. Less developed than surrounding powers technologically, a majority of its power comes from the feudal system surrounding it. Riscor-Calashen is the residence of the king as well as the local duke, count, and baron. The kingdom is divided into two duchies, four counties (two each), and a plethora of small baronies. Three of the counties have their own castles and each barony is centered on a fortified manor house with control expanding outward 1-1.5 days march from the manor. The barons are responsible for keeping the peace in the gray zones between the neighboring baronies under threat of replacement. Many have created agreed-upon dividing walls while others have formed an informal hierarchy with the dominant members slowly encroaching on the others’ jurisdictions or preventing others from doing the same. The western Duke spends some time in both of his county castles as well as traveling to the capitol. Below the royal family, he is at the top of the hierarchy, followed by the eastern duke, and then the count of Dushow. From there, it is a web of political ties struggling for power and recognition among those concerned with prestige.
