Keilar's Cove

Originating as a privately colonized plantation island for coffee and cocoa beans, Keilar's Cove grew in prominence when connections were made to a nearby Triton community. The Cove became the primary exporter of Sea Steel, a corrosion resistant metal forged from a unique ore within the magma trenches below. While Keilar's Cove is the largest "urban" settlement on the West half of The Everstorm Sea , it is far from a city. When a large minority are merchants or sailors passing through, the busy port grows ever smaller to those who call it home.

Guilds and Factions

The Monarchs act as a shadowed influence throughout Keilar's Cove.   A smuggling ring that operates throughout the Everstorm Sea. While there is no governing body that maintains law across the area, The Monarchs have found themselves working behind many backs. The Phaloxil outpost of Fort Guillon monitors many colonial settlements for the extraction of resources. Wouldn't it be a shame if someone else was also harvesting from those areas? Pirates are universally despised, but the quicker they can fence their loot the quicker they can move to the next job or R&R. Every society has the things they cannot abide. The Monarchs simply provide means for people operating in unfavorable conditions.   Their base of operations is a gentleman's club in Keilar's Cove called “Layman's Palace”. The club is a social lounge, inn, and tavern that mainly caters to the higher ranked members of ships passing through. Everything from captains, merchants, military officers, and doctors find themselves staying at Layman's Palace. The club mixes gallantry with rough and tumble aesthetics. One chamber may have a pair of merchants making profitable deals while beyond the wall is a handful of inebriated captains letting loose outside the sight of their men.
