Stal'berry
A small shrub the is commonly found around smaller rivers and creeks in the Kaveto Plateau. The plant grows in a round shape with small, circular, thin green leaves. It produces small, round berries that turn dark purple when they ripen.
The berries can be eaten raw or cooked. When raw they have a dry, mealy texture. However, cooking brings out a sweetness with a distinct tart flavour. They are often used to produce preserves or as flavouring in stews and sauces.
The leaves can be dried and used to make an herbal tea or smoked in a pipe. Both methods cause a relaxing feel. If taken in small doses it is a pleasant experience and is often used for recreation. However, a higher dose causes anxiety and paranoia. The leaves also act as a diuretic and are believed to help with diseases by helping your body relax.
