Temple of Pakoth

Built by The Order a few decades after their founding, the temple of Pakoth started out as a small building housing a statue of the Goddess of magic Arkansa, a library and quarters for about a dozen people. The Arkanski used this place for their research in both magic and science. It remained quite small at first, but was expanded a couple decades later, as the Order's numbers grew. It still remained rather small, until the Order created the Gem of Arkansk, which led to the Great Awakening, that the temple became a lot bigger and more impressive.

Purpose / Function

Initially the temple of Pakoth was used both as a temple to the goddess of magic Arkansa and as a research facility for the Order. When it was built, the temple consisted of a slightly larger room with a staute of Arkansa that was used to pay respect to the goddess and pray to her. The largest room in the temple was a library, containing hundreds of books. About half of the temple were living quarters, including kitchens, storage and an outside garden where a bunch of different foods and other various plants, both magical and nonmagical grew.

Alterations

The temple remained rather small at first, it got expanded about five hundred years after the Order's creation, to house the Gem of Arkansk that the Order created with the help from their goddess, Arkansa. Due to the rapidly increasing size of the Gem the Order decided to increase the size of the temple beyond the additional living quarters they had built many decades earlier because of the increasing number of members.

The large restructuring, as it is often called, required demolishing most of the original temple, most of the Order's members temporarily moved to Lorfar, as they were on great terms with the Logara kingdom, of which Lorfar is the capital of. Some remained on the island either to oversee the construction or simply because the island had quickly become their home, which they were reluctant to leave. For those people and for the construction workers, a temporary encampment was set up on the west side of the island.
