After living for over a hundred years in a constant state of anxiety, suspicion, and mistrust, East and West Ymmaria attempt to reconcile recent problems. Unfortunately, the assassination of an Eastern Diplomat plunges the continent into war. The Clash of Scions lasts for over 200 years and results in millions of casualties and wide swaths of destruction. Old Ymmari technology is misused by both sides and results in entire cities being razed, populations annihilated.
