The Spindlewerks

The masterpiece of famed Volinskian architect and engineer Heinrich Gustal, The Spindlewerks is nearly 7 stories tall and one of the most dominant features on the skyline of Kladinsk. It is technically the tallest building, although not the tallest point as the towers of Vlotscaw sit atop a hill. A massive construct of moving gears, rotating platforms, sliding chains, and tubular bells; the Spindleworks is a giant water powered cuckoo clock with shutters and windows at every level that are programmed to display a different set of actions at every hour. The Spindleworks is considered a National Treasure and is often seen as the unofficial symbol of the Volinskian capital. It maintained by Frau Margot Spindle, an obsessively tidy older lady with a large mole on her cheek.

Architecture

The Spindlewerks is considered the most prominent of the 7 masterworks of famed Volinskian architect Heinrich Gustal. It is a 7 story clocktower of intricately moving parts whose tip twists into a prominent point. When not chiming the hour it appears as a plain black spire with faint golden highlights twisting and circling round it. Every hour, a series of chimes and bells signal and a number of different windows open up revealing delightful clockwork statues and mechanisms. At noon and midnight the entire towers windows open in a magical and musical display of Volinskian engineering.
