Gorthaur

The ancient black dragon Gorthaur rules a small kingdom in the far north of Continental Malatoria. Although most of the Malatorian Northlands are a land of snow and ice, Gorthaur's domain is rife with geothermal activity. Hot springs and geysers have given opportunity to a variety of strange plants and vegetation. The climate is warm enough to support a large tribe of goblins, hobgoblins, and bugbears; denizens who worship the great drake.
Gorthaur has little interests in the affairs outside of his realm, and is quite strangely content with his holdings, a vast horde said to contain some of the greatest and rarest treasures in Malatoria. Over the years, the legend of this horde has brought a steady stream of adventurers. This arrangement has worked well for the dragon, who seems quite content to take the wealth and magic items off of their corpses.
So great is the power of Gorthaur that he has ascended to a position akin to Godhood. Near his lair he is able to grant divine spells to some of the evil humanoids that pay him homage through worship and sacrifice.
