Mount Lambourg Summit

If one were to go to the capital city of Inley they may if they go along the coastline look out into the bay. If they do this then they are unlikely to miss the huge chain which goes down into the water.  While at this distance it is impossible to see the creature that is at the end of this great chain it is fairly easy to look upwards at the origin of the chain. Many who are unaware of what is at the end of that chain find themselves often completely shocked as they look at a floating mountain.

Geography

Mount Lambourg was a fairly large mountain that was bisected when the Tarrasque emerged from a deep series of caves that went under and through the mountain. This specifically focuses on the summit which after the Tarrasque event became a military base. While there were many renovations made to the mountain the most extreme was the use of an epic level spell. Namely "Move Mountain" this caused the mountain's summit which as said had been bisected. The overall geography of the mountain was greatly changed as a result of being bisected the top of the mountain falling onto it's side then being shot hundreds of feet into the air.

Ecosystem

The ecosystem of the mountain has been irrevocably changed by the many things that likewise effected the geography. Many animals that lived on the mountain died as a result of the Tarrasque. Though quite a few of the species native to the mountain remained. After it's other radical change by being launched into the sky and moved from near the center of the continent to the coast. This caused more coastal plants to begin sprouting up along with more coastal bird species.

Ecosystem Cycles

Due to it's location on the coast it is generally temperate even during winter it is warmer then other areas within the empire. Generally speaking this causes little change in the ecosystem throughout the seasons.

Localized Phenomena

The floating would be the most obvious and of these phenomenon with others also being man made with a few fortifications and the introduction of non-native species of animals.

Fauna & Flora

The flora and fauna underwent major changes due to it's semi-destruction and movement from closer to the center of the continent to the coast. Including it becoming the base for the Tribe and as such many of the beasts employed by them.

Natural Resources

The mountain lacks any major natural resources save the ones imported.

History

Mount Lambourg stood as a fairly tall but by no means massive mountain. It was known for a few scenic vistas some small towns and villages around the mountain itself and the surrounding range. The vast cave systems had already been documented but since no metals were found or at least not found in significant enough quantity to begin mining operations. The extent of these cave systems is still unknown, but it is guaranteed that they reach into the underdark possibly even deeper. This is known from when the Tarasque emerged from these cave systems. 
This emergence along the rampage of the Tarrasque that followed caused major damage to the mountain almost bisecting it. After the conclusion of the Tarrasque incident the necessity of a new military base to contain the Tarrasque's phylactery was made apparent. It became decided to commence with the first casting of Move Mountain in 2500 years, the reason being it would allow for the construction of a base that would be difficult for most to get on and off of while also being in and of itself highly defensible. The choice of mount Lambourg for this was fairly apparent given the damage already done to it along with the caves system would make the casting of the spell and the emperor at the time was at the time was said to have a taste for irony.
It took almost four years for the spell to be cast, initial fortifications to be built, and the construction of a large chain that would attach the mountain to the Tarrasque. This would make control of the Tarrasque via the phylactery easier. It was then moved into the bay near the capital so that it was near the Imperial Academy. That way if any problems arose they could be dealt with quickly and it has remained there ever since.

Tourism

It while not secret it is considered one of the most important military installations in Inley most often people approaching without government business or permission are detained.
