Veltasia
The leader of Veltasia could attempt to hire / persuade the party into helping them with truly gaining independence.
Moravan could attempt to get the party to help them undermine Veltasia's independence in order to damage Elos.
Elos could attempt to get the party to work against Moravan by aiding Veltasia in their continued struggle for independence, fake though it might truly be.
Once part of the The Kingdom of Moravan, Veltasia declared its independence in 200 CE. A four-year uprising ensued, wherein Moravan attempted to regain control of the territory. However, in 204 CE, the effort became futile, as the The Kingdom of Elos officially recognized the independence of Veltasia, forming a defensive pact with the fledgling nation.
As a protectorate under Elosian guard, Moravan had few choices but to withdraw their aggression, resorting to clandestine operations, and aggressive diplomacy rather than outright war.
The reality of Veltasia's independence is not so clean as it would appear. Truthfully, they are a vassal kingdom under the suzerain of Elos. Representatives of Elos have free authority to travel within Veltasia, allowing for a strategic inlet to the Western lands of Moravan.
The "Veltasian Problem", as this situation has come to be known, is a major point of contention between the Kingdoms of Moravan and Elos. No great trouble has come from it as of yet, but it serves as yet another political quagmire threatening to ignite war between the two great nations.
