Taxation

Tax in Engle is a land tax.
Holders of land pay a monthly tax to the Crown based on the size of the land they hold, the number of people who reside on that land, and the services that are provided to the landholders.
The amount of tax required to be paid is determined by a local tax warden whose job is to keep a local census and collect tax owed. Once tax is paid, the local services (such as access to fresh water, collection of nightsoil) are provided to that landholder. It is possible to go into arrears, but normally only for one month.
