Mithrans and gold

The Mithrans consider gold to be favoured of Mithra and all priests wear a holy symbol that is at least coated with this valuable metal.
The more important priests of the temple have holy symbols made of solid gold and the high priest of a major temple wears ceremonial robes made of cloth of gold.
The high priests of the major temples do not use coins that are not made of gold and pay for lesser goods and services either through a subordinate or with their own special 'tokens'.
In Engle, these tokens have an official value of two Constantines but are highly prized by the faithful and can fetch much higher prices if sold on the open market.
